The 2012 vintage started off on shaky ground, but ended as one of the best in memory. After 2 years of much cooler temperatures, the year started off great with a nice winter; cold but not extended. April saw the start of bud break, but May brought cold & wet weather giving us fear that flowering & fruit set would be affected. We made it through and saw a gorgeous summer and long fall, allowing the fruit to hang almost into November. We couldn’t have asked for a better year & the wines coming from 2012 will rival any year in recent history. Perfectly complex and balanced, these wines will show well for years to come.

Winemaker Notes This wine is all about balance. A rich, opulent wine, the soft, polished tannins and just a touch of acidity create a bal- anced, elegant and approachable Cabernet, even in its’ youth. 2012 ended up being one of the best vintages in recent his- tory in Washington, and this wine is a great example of what turned out to be an almost perfect year, yielding ripe but balanced wines.
