Abeja 2009 CABERNET SAUVIGNON, RESERVE BOTTLING – Three

17,280円

Our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is the fourth vintage with the special reserve designation. It reflects the very best of the year and embodies our vision of classic Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon in its purest form.

This vintage is one lot of Cabernet Sauvignon from Sagemoor Farm’s Bacchus Vineyard, which was planted in 1972, and these vines are some of the oldest producing Cabernet Sauvignon in the state. It is a vineyard that is special to us, for it consistently produces grapes that are elegantly balanced and have a beautiful expression with richness and structure.

Fruit from Bacchus Vineyard has been a vital part in all of our reserves to date, and here is where this reserve takes an interesting turn. This vintage comes from a one-hundred-percent native yeast fermentation. While this method can be risky, it can result in a unique and really special wine. The complexity and depth are exceptional and the characters are exotic and intriguing. The nose is full of dark fruits – fresh black raspberry, blackberry, and plum preserves. These are enveloped in a sultry mix of exotic spices and earth with a deep floral note. The aromas are contiguous with the flavors and join with earthy dark chocolate, cassis, warm stone, and touches of toasted wood. It is all delivered with our signature plush, velvet-like texture in our legantly powerful style.

These reserve bottlings of Cabernet Sauvignon are special to us, each in its own way, and with this vintage of just 140 cases, the 2009 is especially precious. We hope you enjoy it!
