Vineyard
Chelle den Millie vineyard was originally planted in 1993 with 17 acres of Cabernet Franc. The vineyard lies in the heart of the Yakima Valley, just North of Prosser at 1,000 feet in elevation. Soils are considered sandy loam. Since the site is the valley floor of the Yakima Valley, moderate to late ripening occurs, maintaining flavors and acidity. This is also a great site to grow Sauvignon Blanc because of the cooler and longer growing season. The vineyard is owned by Art den Hoed and managed by Dustin Tobin.

Winemaker Notes
The 2015 vintage in Washington was a very warm vintage, bud break started the first of April which is very unusual.
Chelle den Millie Vineyard is a cooler location which allows the fruit to mature slowly, resulting in more complex wines. Our 2015 Rose of Cabernet Franc is dry Rose’ with a medium body and exudes aromas of tropical fruits, pomegranate and passion fruits. The high acidity shines across the palate, balanced with a complexity of flavors from guava to fresh mango with a hint of watermelon.
